The region around Oulu is known for its beautiful forests and lakes, and the city itself is situated at the mouth of the Oulujoki River. Two hundred years ago Oulu was a major trading center of wood tar to the rest of northern Europe. Today the region draws visitors in search of tranquility and beautiful scenery. But that still doesn't rule out dancing tango at a forest club.
